Anyone
who's into the underground Death Metal scene since at least 1990 should
know this true australian legend formerly known as ACHERON who released
a 7"EP entitled "Deprived of Afterlige" back in '91 on the back then uprising
french label Corpse Grinder Records. This EP raises them amongst the most
heavy extreme bands in the scene. Later they recorded a promo'92 and in
1994 they changed their monicker into ABRAMELIN, recording a 4 songs mini
CD entitled "Transgression from Acheron" for a pretty small Australian
label called Dark Oceans.
In August '95 the band entered the studios to record their long awaited
debut album simply called "Abramelin" (Including a cover of Dead Can Dance)
that saw the light in early '96 through Thrust Records, a sub-label of
a major australian label called Shock Records. This album shows the best
stuff from the band without any soubt!!!
However,
due to the almost nule distribution of these labels outside Australia,
this jewel remained hidden to all worlwide Death Metal fans. But... REPULSE
RECORDS is here to bring this masterpiece to a bigger audience, though
with almost two years of delay. REPULSE RECORDS has also right to license
their upcoming 2nd. album sometime in 1999.
From
the original line-up that recorded the 7"EP, three members remain: Simon
Dower (vocals), Tim Aldridge (Guitars) and Justin Wornes (bass), completing
Euan Heriot (Drums) who also played on the MCD.
